the story

We first met in 2000, but it wasn’t until 5 years later that we crossed paths again, became friends and love blossomed.  Six years later, It was at an unsuspecting moment laying on Burleigh Headland that Karri took the lead & popped the question to Ryann…that’s right, i proposed & beat him to it…he assures me he was planning the moment…. but some things you have to take into your own hands.  So here we are after 8 years together, happily married & looking forward to the journey ahead. 
We are both low key, so wanted to keep our wedding simple & inexpensive, just a small intimate celebration with our closest family & friends. We had 50 guests for our vintage farm wedding & were married under a huge fig tree at our family property. After the ceremony, while we were having photos, an acoustic musician entertained our guests while Progressive Catering served drinks & gorgeous canapes. Our Reception was held in a marquee out in the paddock, where we had a lovely buffet dinner & spent precious time with our closest loved ones.

Our Favourite menu items were:
Rockmelon shooter with whipped ham
Porcini & field mushroom wrapped beef carpaccio bites
Twice cooked pork belly bites, burnt orange & date marmalade

The choice to customize our menu was very exciting, we loved the food tasting prior & the location visit to organise the best location for the bar & catering setup.

Sharing this day with our closest loved ones & everyone meeting, some for the first time. 
The weather looked grim with passing showers, but luckily the rains stayed away for the ceremony & photos. 
Later during the Reception, it poured down & everyone got a bit muddy & bogged in the paddock. 
The moral of the story is not to get stressed when things go wrong, something always does, we just remained focused on the main goal for the day, to affirm our commitment as husband & wife.

We converted our horse stables into a bar, catering area & photo booth which the guests really loved!
